Environmental Management – much for than just lip service!
By mechanically recycling plastic packaging from household and industrial collections HAHN KUNSTSTOFFE GMBH actively contributes to the protection of our environment and its resources.
Compared to conventional processes, mechanical recycling ("turning old into new") has proven to be especially eco-efficient and 
–reductive. At present, about 60 % of plastic packaging collected is converted into new products.
Products made from hanit® are highly eco-friendly. Being chemically inert, they do not contaminate the environment in which they are utilised.
hanit® products are subjected to permanent materials testing in the form of eluate analyses carried out by renowned institutes such as the ÖKOMPARK laboratories in Baumholder, Germany. In the course of migration testing it is determined whether the specimen emits harmful substances by leaching or washing out. The established values range well below the permissible test values.
The monomers of the raw materials employed were preregistered with ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) within the scope of the REACH regulation, although HAHN KUNSTSTOFFE GMBH, as a recycler, is not obligated to do so. REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Athorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. Additionally, HAHN KUNSTSTOFFE GMBH confirms that all suppliers have preregistered with ECHA, thus ensuring conformity with the applicable statutory regulations.
The following certificates prove and emphasize the environmental commitment of HAHN KUNSTSTOFFE GMBH:
- Certified by the German Technical Inspection Agency with regard to energy consumption and potential for energy savings.
- Certificate pursuant to the German Packaging Ordinance for recyclers
- "THE BLUE ANGEL" eco-label
- Licensed in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Ordinance
