Product information INB Paddock slabs

A highly stable and water-permeable run area that offers reliable mud protection and guarantees equal pressure distribution can be laid in next to no time with our INB paddock slabs made of hanit. The slabs are ideal for stabilising grass fields or for draining frequently used passages and runs. Heavy-duty, weatherproof INB paddock slabs have stood the test of time in agriculture and animal husbandry because the special characteristics of the material make all the difference when requirements call for a solution that is especially durable and robust. The recycled-plastic paddock matts are particularly resilient because hanit can easily withstand many years of exposure to frost and UV rays. Thanks to these weatherproof properties, they are suitable for use all year round, especially in open spaces and outdoors, making them a great choice for paddocks, riding arenas and feeding spots.

INB paddock slabs can be laid quickly and easily. They are lightweight and have an integrated plug system, meaning that the subsoil can be stabilised in no time without having to seal the ground – or prepare a base. The hollow chamber system acts as an air reservoir, causing the slabs to float and preventing them from sinking into the ground. This is why INB paddock slabs can be laid right on top of soil or mud without a base. After the slabs have been laid, topsoil, coarse sand (grain size: approx. 0.3) or another water-permeable material can be used to fill them. Grass can also be sown on top of them for a green footing. This means that even large areas can be laid in next to no time, providing a safe surface and easily withstanding the high stress of horse hooves. Another advantage of the plug system is that the installation can be expanded to meet different needs at any time. Paddock slabs without a base are also perfect for mobile solutions such as the temporary stabilisation of paths because they are easy to use and easy to dismantle.

Clever load distribution is another highlight of the INB paddock slabs. The special design and stable connecting bars ensure even load distribution, for a durable, self-supporting structure. The weight of animals or vehicles is distributed evenly across a larger surface, reducing the pressure per square metre and protecting the soil. This is particularly important for sustainable farming and for maintaining soil quality over the long-term. INB paddock slabs are DIN 1072-certified and able to withstand an axle load of ten tonnes. A base is only required from a load weight of 3.5 tonnes.
  • Cars up to 3.5 tonnes | No base
  • Cars and occasional heavy-duty traffic | Base layer of 15 to 25 cm
  • Access routes for heavy duty trucks weighing 60 tonnes (10 tonne axle load) | Base layer of 20 to 30 cm
The system slabs also function as drainage panels to prevent waterlogging. Excess water seeps away into the soil below and is drained by the natural slope. This has the additional advantage of keeping the ground surface moist for longer during dry spells. If the slabs are used upside-down, they act instead as water reservoirs. Water collects in the hollow chamber system to prevent the surface from getting dusty. This application is well-suited to riding arenas because it significantly reduces dust.

INB paddock slabs made of hanit are suitable for a wide range of uses in horse and animal husbandry, and provide a safe surface for horses, cows, sheep and other livestock. Stabilising muddy surfaces means less strain on animals' hooves and supports their natural movement patterns to reduce injuries and illness. The rough surface and double nub embossing also offer slip resistance, for a safer footing for people and animals alike. The recycled plastic paddock matts have a wide range of different applications. In agriculture, for example, the slab system can be used to protect the ground along access routes, in storage areas or for courtyard fortification. It can also be used for footpaths or parking spaces in gardens and landscaping. INB paddock slabs offer a sustainable alternative for temporary installations like outdoor events, festivals or markets. All important information about bracing can be found in the download area.
